Negative Space

I love when ideas come to me unexpectedly!  I was feeling sad because I love to participate in blog challenges and I just was not coming up with what I could make with the colors from Color Throwdown this week.

I haven't had much time with going to my 20th high school reunion over the weekend and getting my kids ready to start school (only a little over 2 weeks away!). Then suddenly it hit me!  So here's what I came up with:

I've been wanting to try the technique using the masking tape to put color on the card and this seemed the perfect combo for that.  I also used my last 4 inches of retired Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon.  The stamp set is from Chalk Talk.  I used the Hearts framelits and the Chevron embossing folder.  It was a pretty quick card to throw together.  I really like it and hope you do too!
