Coffee anyone?

I have two cards to share with you today.  As I was crafting I got a call from a good friend that I haven't talked to in a while.  She was in inspiration for the first card.  We keep talking about getting together and never actually doing it.  I might have to just invite her over for coffee!

Stamps: Perfect Blend, Perfect Pennants
Ink: Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Sweet Taffy DSP, Whisper White, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Silver Glimmer
Accessories: 3/4" circle punch, Hexagon punch, Regals candy dots, Blender Pens

I just love the Giggle Greetings stamp set!  It makes me laugh each time I pull it out to use it.  I tried to make the cat look like my own precious AJ but he didn't seem too interested in my card or his likeness here.

Ink: Staz On, Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy, Pool Party
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy, Pool Party, Whisper White

Welcome!  I have a few cards to share with you today.  I'm working on some ideas for an upcoming stamp camp so they are all with a birthday theme.  Here we go...

My first card is a masculine birthday. I always struggle with these and I was determined to make 2, so I pulled out my old faithful set "Lovely As A Tree".  This card is so very natural and neutral that it was easy to combine elements.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Hardwood
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Whisper White
Accessories: Stampin' Sponge, Fringe Scissors, Banner Punch, Basic Metal Buttons, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Woodgrain EF

CHALLENGE: This Beautiful Earth

Next, was a hard color combo for me.  I really like the look of the loopy twine I've seen on several cards and wanted to try it for myself.  I have no idea if I did the technique correctly but I'm satisfied with how it turned out.

Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Perfect Pennants
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey, Bake Brown Sugar
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Fresh Prints DSP stack (retired)
Accessories: Chalk Talk Framelits, 1/2" circle punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, White Baker's Twine, Linen Thread, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Tiny Triangles EF

Week 2

Here is my other masculine card.  I love the Gorgeous Grunge set for cool looks like this.  Its quick and easy and fun.

Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, Basic Gray
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Accessories: Bitty Banner Framelits, Epic Day Washi Tape

Finally, I have a fun one for a kid.  I love the photopolymer stamps because they are so easy to use when stamping on an angle since you can see through the stamp and know where it is going to go.

Stamps: Age Awareness, Just Saying
Paper: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Taffy DSP
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Word Bubble Framelits, 1/8" Silver Ribbon

Happy Independence Day!

Hello and Happy Independence Day to you!  I had a fun day of stamping while my hubby and kids worked on some projects around the house.  Tomorrow will be our celebration day starting off with a 5K race for me with my sister's family and then spending the day with family including a parade, swimming, and fireworks to finish off the night.  So excited!  I'm actually listening to lots of fireworks popping in our area as I type!  So, with so many hours today I have lots to share with you.  Hope you enjoy them :)

1.  My first card is one that we created at my June club meeting.  I've seen so many cute flag cards made with the Work of Art stamp set, but , alas, I do not have it.  So, I tried to make one using a stamp set I did have - Gorgeous Grunge.  I thought it was pretty cool.
Had to use the Bravo stamp set for a fun sentiment on the inside!

2. This card showcases the color scheme from and the sketch from
I pulled out a set that I love but don't use often - Mosaic Madness.  I also have a few stamps from Everything Eleanor and Itty Bitty Banners.  Embossing folders, punches, and framelits that coordinate make putting a card like this together in a snap!

3.  Next, we have a fun color combo provided by and a sketch from

I added Sahara Sand a a neutral color for this card.  This uses the Flower Patch stamp set and the matching Flower Fair framelits.  The DSP is from the Moonlight DSP stack.  My wow factor is the Dazzling Details on the edges of each layer of the flower.
Here's a closer look with each layer popped up.

4.  I super love the color combo on this card  given to me by and the sketch provided by pretty fun also.

I think Nautical everytime I see this color combo but decided to stick with clean and simple.  This definitely reminds me of my oldest niece so I may save it for her birthday this year.  The buttons (made from simply pressed clay) were colored with markers.  I'm also loving the new thick baker's twine!

5.  A Happy Hooray and Sassy Salutations  helped make the card a success.  Three challenges in one card!  First, an inspiration from , next, a color combo from , and finally a sketch from
Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a Project with a "Watercolor Wash".
  • Create a "CAS project or one with Minimal Layers".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a "CAS project with a Watercolor Wash".
PPA210 Basic Gray Lost Lagoon Pool Party

I love part of the water coloring on the background of the card.  Most of the Lost Lagoon is covered by the banner.  I really like how the banner turned out.  I finally made something that looked exactly like the picture in my brain!  This card came together really quickly - thanks aqua painters!

6.  Almost done - I had so much fun making this birthday card on our Nation's birthday.  While making this card I took some time to reflect on my gratefulness for so many freedoms and the people who have fought for them.  Thank you service men and women of the past, present and future!  This card also combines three challenges.  A theme from  and, and a sketch from
CHALLENGE: National Pride
"Stars and Or Stripes

I had a lot of fun using the new Decorative Mask to make the stars on the background.  And then, also with the stars for a banner from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

7.  Finally, a few feathers from A Happy Hooray and the sentiment and heart from Something to Say helped me to complete the challenges from and

I tried to use my fringe scissors on the feathers but the fringe wasn't fine enough and I cut right through the I just got out my paper snips and fringed the edges.  It only took about 2 seconds longer.  The DSP is from Sweet Taffy DSP.  I love all the bold and bright colors of those papers!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my collection.  Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend!
