Candy Cane Hues 2

Seriously - I told you I liked this color combo!  Here's another card with this collection:

This started out as my first card and then it wasn't turning out how I pictured it in my head - so here is my revised, clean and simple end product.  It uses the Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set and Linen Thread tied around.  I cut out one inch squares for the centers and then punched out 1 1/4" of Very Vanilla to mat each color square.  Extremely easy and fun!

Candy Cane Hues

I almost didn't get this one done!  This is for the CMB challenge this week - Candy Cane Hues.

I'm definitely in Christmas mode so here is my take on it.

The base of the card is Soft Suede.  I used the Curly Cute Stamp set in Real Red on the Primrose Petals layer- I just love the elegance of those greetings.  The snowflake was made using the Big Shot die Snow Flurry.  I doubled up the large snowflake.  The medium snowflake is cut out of the Red glimmer paper and then a brights glimmer brad is used in the center.  Behind the snowflake is a piece of Sahara Sand that I embossed using the petals a plenty folder. Finally, I wrapped a strip of Vanilla seam binding around the middle. I really like this color combo - I know I say that every time - but I really do.

Mini Me

I love that my kids love to craft with me and just wanted to share some of their art work.  They have access to all my scraps and tons of paper that is non-SU.  I think they do an amazing job and I definitely see some future demonstrators!  Here is some of their artwork:

 Nadia's (age 8):

Josie's (age 11):

Feel free to leave a comment.  I'm sure they would love to hear what other people think of their creations!

Caffeine Tones

This week's Challenge at CMB is Caffeine Tones.  I absolutely love a neutral pallet!

It was especially challenging for me as my right hand is in brace for tendinitis and I shouldn't be using it! Typing is a challenge as well!

Here is what I came up with:

The base is River Rock with a layer of Soft Suede that was embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder and then I rubbed the Soft Suede ink pad on top to give it a more textured look.  The circle is Sahara Sand and the element is also stamped in Sahara Sand.  Get Well (Delightful Dozen) is stamped in Early Espresso.  Also stamped in Early Espresso is the pocket watch onto River Rock paper.  The element and pocket watch are from the Clockworks stamp set.

Hopefully my hand heals quickly and I can get back to some more detailed stuff.  Thanks for looking!

Fallen Hues

CMB challenge time!  This weeks colors are spectacular for fall.

Here's what I came up with:

The stamp sets used are Kindness Matters and the sentiment is from Delightful Dozen.  There is a layer of Raspberry Ripple ribbon, a strip of Crumb Cake that is embossed with the Fancy Fan EF, and then the banner is stamped in Chocolate Chip - and I definitely had to use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to do that!

Here is a close up of the butterflies.

Each butterfly was stamped on the color of paper that it is stamped in then layered on top with another butterfly stamped on white with the color.  The middle butterfly is stamped in Perfect Plum.  The wings are slightly titled outward for a three dimensional effect.

I thought a  button from the Naturals Designer buttons added that perfect finishing touch.  There is Espresso Bakers twine and Linen thread tied to the button. Both the layer behind the butterflies and the get well sentiment are cut out using the Labels framelits.

October Club

Last week was Stamp Club at my house and just wanted to show you what we did.  Anyone is welcome to attend...its $5.00 for anyone who is not in the club which is waived if you place an order.  Anyway, here are the projects.

This was a little matchbook post it note holder.  It used the International Bazaar DSP.  Too cute!

Our fine feathered friend here was made using the owl punch and Hello Doily stamp set.  I think the googlie eyes add just the right touch!

Happy Thanksgiving - unless you are Mr. Tom!

And last but not least, a pretty fall leaf card using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP.

Winged Hues

I almost forgot to post my card for the Color Me Beautiful Challenge.  This weeks colors are called Winged Hues.

Aren't these pretty?!  But then again, all the color combos they select are :)    Here is my creation:

The base is River Rock with a layer of Soft Suede that has been run through the Chevron EF.   I made the pennants in Old Olive, Perfect Plum, and Baja Breeze.  The Doily is from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlet L and is popped up with dimensionals.  The Perfect Plum layer uses the Circles #2 Die and the center with the sentiment is punched out with the 1 3/4" circle punch.  I added a strip of Very Vanilla seam binding and tried to crinkle it but not sure if I like how it turned out.  You can't see it very well under the doily.  I used the Love & Sympathy stamp set.

I'm off to work on more Christmas Cards...look for ideas popping up on here soon!

Spring Petals & Snowmen?

Welcome to Thursday!  I know its been a while since I posted but I have been having a marvelous time with crafting and stamping ...I'll have lots to show you in the near future!  I did well at the craft fair that I participated in last week.  You'll be seeing some of the items I made for that soon as well.  Anyway, I love to do the Color Me Beautiful Challenges and this week's challenge was called Spring Petals.  I kinda questioned spring petals in the throws of autumn but since I'm also working on a lot of Christmas items I figured I was a touch out of season too!  Here is the color scheme:

Here is my take on it - fitting into the theme I've been working with :)

I know its not the best photo, but I was having trouble with my lighting today.  I used the Pink Pirouette card base and the gray and greens for some panels in the back.  Those were embossed with the retired Snowburst embossing folder (still love it). The snowmen are the Frosty Friends single stamp set in the Holiday catalog.  I stamped them on white and then used the Apothecary  Accents Framelits to cut it out. I then sponged the edge with Pink Pirouette. This was popped up with Dimensionals.  The circles that say Merry Christmas are from the Delightful Decorations stamp set in the main catalog.  They were stamped in Regal Rose paper with Regal Rose ink and then punched out with the 3/4" circle punch.  These also are popped up on Dimensionals.  There are two large rhinestones from the Basic Jewels and finally I spritzed the whole card with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Frost White Shimmer Paint.  I may use this for one of my upcoming Stamp-A-Stack classes.

Lavender and Wheat

I feel like I am going "craft fair crazy"!  My first one is this Thursday and Friday.

I wanted to quickly post my submission for this week's CMB challenge.

Here is my take on it.

I used the Delicate Doilies set and stamped each doily in one of the colors.  The happy birthday sentiment is from the Family Reunion stamp set.  I popped the first layer up on Dimensionals just to give it some depth and added a strip of pearls from the Pearls Basic Jewels to class it up a bit.  Just a clean and simple design.  Thanks for looking!

Easy but Elegant

I'm super busy lately with all the things I'm making for my upcoming craft fairs this fall but wanted to get another quick post in.  As I've said in earlier posts I have a ton of September birthdays to celebrate.  These cards were for my Grandma and my friend Stacey.
These were really quick to make.  The Designer Paper is from the Comfort Cafe series.  It is the front and back of one double sided sheet.  I love how they are different and yet coordinate so wonderfully.    The base is Very Vanilla and so is the label that has Birthday Wishes on it.  I embossed it using the designer frames folders and then cut that piece out with one of the Labels framelits.  After that, I sponged the edges. It took me about 10 minutes to make both cards.  Quick and simple!
I hope they both had wonderful days and my cards were a bright spot in them! Pin It Now!

Tuscan Rise

Good Monday Morning!  Here is another card for the Color Me Beautiful Challenge.

This was an absolutely beautiful color scheme.  Makes me want to visit the desert.  Hmmm, I do have some family in Arizona....

September is a busy birthday month in my family so this is going to another family member.  Here is my take on "Tuscan Rise".

I wanted to use blocks of color and I thought this was a good color combo for that..  I just used to Scallop Dotted Ribbon punch to do the accents.  I wanted to use ribbon but didn't have any in these colors.  However, I really like how it turned out.  Hope you do too!

Ingredients:
Stamp sets: Just Believe, On Your Birthday (retired)
Paper: Basic Gray, More Mustard, Perfect Plum, Cajun Craze, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessories: Scallop Dotted Ribbon Punch Pin It Now!

AM Inspiration

Good Rainy Saturday morning!  I just want to share with you today a card I made for a Color Me Beautiful Challenge.

These were the colors we are to use and to make any creation we want.  I needed to make a card for my niece's 13th birthday and didn't have any ideas yet so I thought this could be my inspiration.

This never happens to me but I must have been thinking on it when I was sleeping because I woke up and knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Here is my finished product...nice and simple.  I wish I had put the flower a little higher but, oh well.  I used Calyso Coral as my base with a layer of More Mustard and then Very Vanilla.  The Birthday Wishes is stamped in Always Artichoke  using the stamp set Bring on the Cake.  The leaves for the flower were die cut using the Big Shot and the Little Leaves sizzlet.
Now for some more details about the actual flower:
The three colors I used were Raspberry Ripple, Calypso Coral, and More Mustard.  I wanted something really soft and pretty so I decided to have the petals be sueded.  I punched out two 2 3/8" scalloped circles in Raspberry Ripple.  Then I used the regular scalloped circle punch to punch out two in Calypso Coral and one in More Mustard.  I then ran each scalloped circle through my crimper to get the paper nice and soft.  After that, you peel each circle into two pieces.

Once they are separated, I used 3 pieces of the Rasperry Ripple, two pieces of Calypso Coral and one piece of More Mustard.  I spritzed them with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and alcohol to make them sparkly.  Then layer them on top of each other, put a brad in the center and starting with the top piece, smush them together.  Once it is dry (a few minutes) you can slightly unfold it.

After that, attach to your card!  This isn't a card that easily fits in an envelope so I'm going to hand deliver this one.  Here's one last photo - I tried to capture the sparkly on the flower.
