Afternoon playtime

Lately, I've let other "things" come before my stamping time.  Some are good - like floating in the pool while my kids play and swim around me, and some are just not great - like surfing the internet out of boredom when I could be stamping!  So I made myself get out some stamps this afternoon and I'm sure glad I did.  I always feel better when I can unleash my creative side for a little bit.  I have two cards to share with you today.

First, I got out some retired paper.  SU's paper is always amazing and I tend to hoard it instead of use it so I'm making myself break that bad habit.  This card was so quick and easy. I love the vanilla, black, and pop of Coastal Cabana. I used the Decorative Label punch in black behind the word bubble cut out.  I think it gave it that extra wow.  I keep feeling like the card is tilted but I think its just my lack of photography skills {cheesy grin}.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project using the colors" Black , White/Ivory and one other color of your choice".
  • Create a project using a "Word Bubble".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a "Black & White project with a Word Bubble on it".

Next, I love how this one turned out!  Kinda Eclectic is the first stamp set I just had to have from the new catty.  (I may have mentioned this before, but its true!)  I wanted to see if I could create a card using all the new in colors as well.  I'm pleased with how it turned out.  I was trying to fit it into a couple different challenges and one was to make a card reflecting summer time.  I know the in colors are a bit on the darker side, but I've noticed that after a good summer thunderstorm (which we've had quite a few of lately) darker colors in the shade seem a little more vibrant so this is what  I'm going with!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my cards for today.  Stop back soon!
